Daily Story Time
We offer Story Time every day! Join us from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Themes and books vary, so check our event calendar for detailed date information.
NEW – Baby Story Time on Friday mornings
Baby storytime is unique because it will focus on ways that parents and caregivers can interact with their children during storytime. We will give you fun ideas of things to do with your babies that encourage interaction and early literacy and then show you how to model those interactions for them. We will read two or three short books and also have opportunities for you to read a book or two to your child. This event will feature songs, rhymes, lap bounces, and playtime at the end. Your babies can play and parents and caregivers can chat! We look forward to seeing you!
Senior-Tot Story Time
Second Star welcomes a visitor from A Little Help, a non-profit organization focused on connecting seniors with their communities in order to help them thrive. During each Senior-Tot Story Time, the visiting senior reads one of their personal favorites. To learn more about A Little Help, click here.
Lil’ Kickers Story Time
Join us for a visit from Lil Kickers and their mascot, Kick., from Bladium Sports and Fitness Club in Denver. We will welcome two coaches and Kicker as they enthusiastically read sports and action themed books for Story Time! They are always sure to bring treats for the kids, too.
Officer Robbie Story Time
We will have a visit from local police officer Robbie. He reads to us in his uniform each month!
Message from Robbie: I enjoy story time because I am a father of three children. I was able to pass along the importance of reading to my children and how it helps to expand your imagination. Reading to my children has always been very important to me. Reading with the children allows the kids to see a police officer as someone who is a member of their community and not someone to be fearful of. It also allows us, as police officers, to get to know the families that we serve and to give something back.
Early Bird Story Time
Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. This will be in addition to our daily story times at 10:30 a.m. We hope to see you there!
Toddler Story Time
This special Story Time will include interactive picture book readings, simple games, songs and time for coloring at the end. We know our toddlers love to move around, and we hope to embrace their energy at this Story Time.
Doula Story Time
Local Doula Sarah Bruss reads!
